about scott lucas
I have been a web professional since 2004, and currently work as the webmaster for the Cleveland Institute of Music and live in Painesville, OH. My experience is heavy in LAMP environments with strict adherence to W3C validated, CSS-based code.
But you may not care about that, and I don't blame you. You know what you want, and the first thing that springs to mind probably isn't "a CSS-based, W3C-validated site that uses PHP to mine data in MySQL." Maybe it's a shopping cart, or a forum, or a dancing monkey. Maybe it's a site that looks better, or works better, or keeps people around longer. Your job is knowing what you want. Mine is making it happen.
I take my craft seriously; I never settle, and I don't think my clients should, either. I'm a big believer in doing all of my coding by hand; that is, not using any cookie-cutter templates or programs that create HTML code for you. Automated code is rarely good, and never great. A great website is attractive, purposeful, and functional. It should make your life and work easier, not more complicated. And that's where I come in: making it easy for you.
